Frequently Asked Questions

Questions About Care at Sattva

Clear expectations help protect both patient and practitioner. Here are answers to the questions we're asked most — about appointments, Panchkarma, Osteopathy, and how care is structured.

General & Philosophy

Is Sattva Wellness Centre a spa?

No. Sattva Wellness Centre is a doctor-led clinical Ayurveda, Panchkarma, Osteopathy and Mindfulness centre. Care is delivered through medical assessment by visiting specialist doctors, not spa-style relaxation or pampering.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

Consultations are by prior appointment only. Doctors are visiting specialists, and each consultation requires preparation and dedicated time, so walk-in or same-day therapy is not available.

What happens during my first visit?

Your first visit begins with an Ayurvedic doctor consultation and Nadi Parikshan (pulse diagnosis) to assess digestion, metabolism, dosha balance and lifestyle. Findings are explained clearly before any therapy is suggested or planned.

Why does Sattva require assessment before every therapy?

Ayurvedic and manual therapies work through timing, sequencing and recovery. Skipping assessment or rushing treatment can reduce effectiveness and delay improvement — care is planned to respect the body's readiness and the time correction genuinely requires.

Who are the doctors at Sattva Wellness Centre?

Sattva is supported by visiting Ayurvedic specialists, including Dr. Hiren S. Yagnik (B.A.M.S., C.R.A.V., Y.I.C.), who leads Nadi Parikshan and doctor consultations, and Dr. Preeti, who sees patients by appointment for Panchkarma and lifestyle-related concerns.

Panchkarma & Ayurvedic Therapies

What is Panchkarma, and is it a quick detox?

Panchkarma is a structured therapeutic system, not a single quick-detox procedure. It requires preparation, carefully sequenced therapies and recovery, all planned according to individual assessment — incorrect timing or inappropriate therapy can delay recovery.

What are the five Panchkarma therapies?

The five classical therapies are Abhyanga (oil therapy), Vamana (therapeutic emesis), Virechana (controlled purgation), Basti (medicated enema) and Nasya (nasal therapy). Each is selected and sequenced by doctors, never offered as a standalone shortcut.

Is Abhyanga just a massage?

No. Abhyanga is a medically guided Ayurvedic oil therapy used for nervous system regulation, tissue nourishment and preparation for deeper Panchkarma therapies — applied with clinical intent, not for indulgence.

What is Nadi Parikshan / Nadi Check (pulse diagnosis)?

Nadi Parikshan — also called Nadi Check — is a traditional pulse-based diagnostic method used to understand doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) and internal imbalances, supporting clinical decision-making on which therapies are appropriate.

Do you offer therapies beyond the five Panchkarma treatments?

Yes. Sattva also offers Shirodhara, Takradhara, Janu Basti, Marma Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy (CST), Netra Tarpan, Karna Purana, Kansya Thali Massage and Swarna Prashana (for children) — each recommended only where assessment indicates it is appropriate.

Conditions We Treat

Can Ayurveda help with diabetes?

Ayurveda approaches diabetes through metabolic and digestive evaluation, diet correction, Panchkarma and lifestyle guidance. Treatment is planned by doctors based on individual assessment — not a generic protocol.

Can Ayurveda help with thyroid problems?

Thyroid imbalance is evaluated alongside digestion, metabolism and stress load. Ayurvedic management focuses on correcting root metabolic causes through diet, lifestyle and Panchkarma, planned by doctors based on individual assessment.

Can Ayurveda help with PCOS?

PCOS is assessed through digestive, hormonal and metabolic evaluation. Personalised Ayurvedic protocols combine diet correction, lifestyle guidance and Panchkarma where indicated — all planned by doctors following individual assessment.

Can Ayurveda help with stress and anxiety?

Stress and anxiety are physiological, not just mental — they affect the nervous system, digestion and sleep. Sattva approaches stress and anxiety through Nadi Parikshan assessment, Shirodhara, lifestyle correction and doctor-guided Panchkarma.

Do you offer an Ayurvedic diet plan?

Yes. Personalised dietary guidance is part of every treatment programme at Sattva. Your Ayurvedic diet plan is based on your dosha balance, digestive strength and current imbalance — not generic advice.

Osteopathy & Chronic Pain

I have back pain or posture problems — which treatment should I look for?

That falls under Osteopathy at Sattva — a manual, assessment-driven therapy for back pain, neck pain, posture and body alignment issues. You don't need to know the clinical term; just call or WhatsApp and describe the pain or discomfort, and we'll guide you to the right assessment.

What is osteopathy and how is it different from massage?

Osteopathy is a manual healthcare discipline focused on posture, alignment and movement mechanics. Unlike massage, it is assessment-driven and aims at restoring functional movement balance, not temporary relaxation.

Can chronic pain really be linked to digestion or stress?

Yes. In many cases, digestion, metabolism, circulation and nervous system imbalance influence musculoskeletal health. Pain is often felt in one area, but its origin may lie elsewhere — which is why deeper assessment matters for chronic or recurring pain.

How many osteopathy sessions will I need?

Osteopathic correction works gradually, especially when patterns have developed over months or years. Improvement usually occurs over a series of planned sessions — pace depends on the duration of the issue, lifestyle and body adaptation.

Digestion, Stress & Sleep

Why does Ayurveda focus so much on digestion?

In Ayurveda, digestion influences energy, immunity, mental clarity, sleep and long-term balance. Many chronic concerns begin with unnoticed digestive imbalance that gradually expresses elsewhere in the body.

Can Ayurveda help with stress and disturbed sleep?

Yes. Stress is physiological, not just mental — it affects the nervous system, digestion and sleep quality. Sattva approaches stress and sleep concerns through assessment of nervous system load, digestion and daily rhythm, not symptom masking alone.
